I'm quite pleased with the progress. Perhaps sleeve 2 will be done before school starts. Then the progress will slow considerably with the great width of the main parts of the jumper. The decreasing was a bit wiggly because I didn't understand the pattern instructions on the first or second reading but it turned out fine overall and I understand what I should be doing in the second sleeve. And sleeve two will not contain the cabling mistake that the first one has. I shall leave it as an exercise for the reader to find it... if you could actually be bothered. It doesn't dramatically effect the pattern and it wouldn't be noticeable on a moving arm when being worn.
There was some concern over the length of the sleeve but I'm trusting the pattern and the fact that the notes on the pattern from MissFliss suggest that we are on the right track - ie the arm dimensions I need to work with have to be smaller than the arm she has to fit.
So time to rinse and repeat. I have this cable pattern sorted. I can almost do it from memory. But I'll stick to the two post-it notes on the pattern just to make sure.
