Big decision

I was very excited about the idea of having two part time jobs. It was going to be challenging to find time for them both. In fact, I realise now that it would be too challenging. I just wouldn't be able to fit in the work and travel without finding alternative care arrangements for Crankmaster at least for one afternoon a week.

I've since spoken with confirmed employer and his minimum hours per week is now 12 hours (possibly more if all goes well). The other unconfirmed job was for 21 hours per week. That's 33 hours. That's nearly a full time job. For less pay than I would get for full time. And add to that the travel time to get to job two.

So I'm going to tell write to the job to people and withdraw the application. It looked like a great place to work but realistically, my job, for now, is to look after the child, not be the bread winner. The job is to keep my brain ticking over and to provide cake, not the bread. The second job will get in the way of the school run and after school activities.

And if I'm not spending all my free time working frantically I will have time to get involved in the school canteen and whatever else there is to get involved in. And keep up the dance classes.

It's all far less daunting now that I've come to this conclusion.

Sounds like a great decision. You are so lucky to be in a situation where you _can_ be a cake winner.
